As a Safeguarding and Welfare Support Assistant you will be working with our most vulnerable students and handling extremely sensitive information. We are a school where safeguarding concerns are raised frequently, and so you will be required to investigate these alongside other members of the team. Working closely with our Designated Safeguarding Lead, it will be your responsibility to help monitor safeguarding of all students at Riverston, to make meticulous records of any concerns raised and investigated, and make detailed action plans as and when required. As a Safeguarding and Welfare Support Assistant, you will work in our Reflective Thinking Centre, providing one to one interventions to young people when they are struggling to access school in an appropriate way. This could include direct interventions to help them understand how their behaviour impacts themselves and others and how to get back on track. You will need to have the ability to build strong relationships with young people, and be entirely child centered above all else. This is richly rewarding role, where you will have the opportunity to make real and meaningful differences to the lives of vulnerable young people.

o Supporting student welfare through high levels of pastoral care.
o Working with young people to overcome challenges in behavior or other factors which are preventing them from being successful in class.
