A welcome from the Principal

Red House Academy is an 11-16 secondary school in the heart of Sunderland. The Academy is committed to creating an outstanding learning community where students are challenged to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to create an academy that understands and ensure that the outcomes of our pupils prepare them for life beyond the academy.

Red House Academy are proud to be part of Northern Education Trust (NET) together with ten secondary schools and nine primary schools across the North of England. Being a part of the NET family allows for us to be able to build relationships and to develop practice through the collaboration with other Trust Academies. We set the highest of expectations for students and staff and we are relentless in striving for the highest possible excellence.

With NET the Academy has aligned itself with the vision of being “Outcomes focused, child centred” and as an Academy we wholeheartedly subscribe to this philosophy. We continue our journey to clearly communicate and embed our core values and be an inclusive academy and trust.

We have worked hard to build excellent links with parents and the community to be able to provide students with the best possible secondary phase of their education.

Our students’ learning is constantly monitored to ensure they have the challenge, support and guidance necessary to achieve the outcomes that they deserve. Red House Academy has a growing enrichment programme in which students are actively encouraged to participate.
