Job/Person Summary

We are immensely proud of the work undertaken by our Safeguarding Team which was identified in a recent Ofsted inspection as being a clear strength. Our growth in student numbers means we are seeking an experienced safeguarding professional to support, challenge and advise those involved in the lives of our students and the wider community.

You will take the lead on designing, implementing and shaping safeguarding practices and policies to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people and their families with particular focus on ensuring that all children with a social worker are appropriately supported to be successful learners, creating a culture of high expectations and strengthening partnerships between school, families and professionals.

In this role you will oversee Calthorpe Park’s Safeguarding and Student Support Services Team and will work with a wide range of partners to achieve excellence for our young people.

You will report to the Deputy Headteacher DSL and be supported by a strong team of highly experienced safeguarding and support practitioners.

·        You will have successful safeguarding experience within an educational setting or in a public body and will ideally have experience of managing a team.

·        You will work closely with school staff, social care professionals, stakeholders and outside agencies to build on successes to-date and drive-up standards so that every child in our community, especially those in care or with a designated social worker is supported to achieve their full potential

·        You will be an experienced, organised and an inspirational leader

·        You will solution focussed, forward thinking and an exemplary role model

·        You will have the strongest commitment to the welfare of all children

·        You will be an exceptional communicator.
