Magdalen Court School provides education for up to 80 pupils with special educational needs. The focus for the school is to support pupils with high levels of anxiety and specific learning difficulties including autism.

Safeguarding Officer

Magdalen Court School are looking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer.

The main focus of the role will be:

The role of Safeguarding Officer is as the first point of contact in the absence of the DSL to avoid any unnecessary delays in responding to a child or young person’s needs and supports the DSL in carrying out the duties of the post, including committing resources and supporting and directing other staff.

The Safeguarding Officer role is a proactive safeguarding role within the school. The role will contribute the school’s commitment and vision to support children to enable them to achieve their potential. 

The Safeguarding Officer working with all staff will strive to sustain an environment where children are safe and where staff are able to respond effectively to any potential suspicion of abuse, neglect, or harm. 

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility and will be achieved by the Safeguarding Officer supporting every child with flexible and responsive services at the right time. 

Working hours are full time: 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only (36.6 weeks).

£22,500 (Actual Salary) 

Experience of working with children who have autism or anxiety would be an advantage.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check.
