Job overview

School Administration and Marketing Officer

Permanent

Grade 8: £22,185 - £24,495 per annum pro rata (£11.49 - £12.69 per hour)

35 hours per week, 08:00am – 15.30pm (Daily with half an hour lunch)

40 weeks: Term time plus one week (to be agreed between the line manager and post holder)

Required as soon as possible

We are looking to appoint an efficient and well organised colleague with excellent interpersonal skills to join our support services team.

Duties to include:

  • Manage the work of the reception team to ensure high-quality output of print, digital and verbal communication.
  • Take on the design and production of the weekly newsletter and work with the senior team to develop our communication through social media.
  • Enhance and promote the image of the school through both internal and external marketing activities and manage some events.
  • Provide professional design templates, establish a brand toolkit and support the school in the production of all things print and digital.

This role would suit a design graduate looking for a first job where they can apply their skills across a broad range of situations. The ideal candidate will be able to use ‘InDesign’ or similar and will possess the confidence to work ‘front of house’ in a school setting. Training for the non-design aspects of the post will be given.

Those considering applying should be aware that the pay is pro rata (they are paid for the 40 weeks but it is apportioned across the year providing a monthly salary). This may be ideal for the person who might want longer holiday entitlements than are usually available in professional organisations or those who may have other interest and projects that they wish to maintain alongside their employment.

Woodbrook Vale School is a popular and highly successful 11-16 single academy trust located within the university town of Loughborough.

The school ethos reflects a supportive learning environment and our commitment to giving every student an ambition to succeed. We are proud of our innovative approach to teaching and learning. We have excellent facilities and have invested heavily in our buildings and infrastructure over recent years to create a highly attractive school site.
