About the role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of the school admissions team and the overall admissions process (coordinated and mid-year) and school admission appeals to ensure the Council meets its statutory duties.

You will be responsible for the managing the delivery of traded admissions services, such as the preparation and presentation of the school's case at independent school admission appeals hearings.

About you:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual who has a sound knowledge and a good understanding of the education system and the school admissions process to join our Education Support Team.

We are looking for someone who has experience in a local authority admissions team or equivalent with knowledge and understanding of the School Admissions and School Admissions Appeal Codes and other related legislation and demonstrable ability and experience applying the legislation and guidance to various situations. The post holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent.

Good management skills, with particular emphasis on team leadership, development planning, working under pressure and to tight deadlines, problem solving and negotiating, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and multi-tasking are essential skills for the role.

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills will therefore be required, with the ability to use these effectively with a range of audiences.
