An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and passionate person to join Pembroke House School as a Business Development Manager. Reporting to the Head of the School, but with a strong working relationship with the Chair of the Pembroke House Foundation, the position is responsible for overseeing the development of business and fundraising opportunities that support the school’s growth and profitability, with the aim of paying for all capital development requirements without the need to use school fee revenues.  At the same time as maintaining strong and close relationships with all stakeholders,  the role will aim to broaden the school’s marketing reach in order to maximise pupil numbers within permitted limits, at the same time as seeking other compatible revenue generating opportunities to supplement school incomes, including raising funds from the philanthropic sector.  Working closely with the Foundation Chair, the position will also be required to develop a properly engaged and supportive alumni network, using this and other opportunities to develop and implement a strong fundraising strategy for the school. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in fundraising, and an understanding on how to plan and implement new strategies focused around marketing, communications and fundraising.

A willingness to contribute to the whole school life is an advantage. 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related subject from a recognized university

• Master’s Degree in a business-related field will be an added advantage 

• Experienced in marketing and communications for large organisations

• Preferably a demonstrated ability to develop and manage the fundraising capacity of the organization

Pembroke House School is a full boarding school of around 200 pupils in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, Gilgil, Kenya.
