Melbury College wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic School Business Manager to work across the college leading on Finance, HR, Facilities Management and Administration.

We are seeking a highly skilled person who has a strong commitment to professional excellence and is willing to lead and manage staff flexibly across different sites. We invite candidates from a range of professional backgrounds, who can demonstrate the ability to operate strategically, communicate effectively and who will share our passion for education. You will need to have experience in leading and motivating teams and a strong understanding of business.

Melbury College is a partnership that includes the Smart Centre (KS3&4 Pupil Referral Unit), Melrose School (secondary SEMH special school), Merton’s Medical Education Service, Merton Alternative Education Service and the David Nicholas Primary Assessment Centre.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A strategic thinker
  • Experience at School Business Management, or highly relevant finance and resources management, including generating revenue
  • Highly organised
  • Skilled at managing systems (FMS & SIMS) and people
  • Able to think creatively and problem solve
  • Ability to motivate staff by establishing empathetic and supportive working relationships
  • Ability to monitor and review through self-evaluation, report writing and a clear system of record keeping
  • Ability to work flexibly, innovatively and responsively in a challenging environment
