Job/Person Summary

We are looking to appoint a School Business Manager to be responsible for administration, finance, human resources, premises, health & safety and IT management of the school. You will need to be a strategic thinker and planner and understand the need for confidentiality. You must be able to prioritise your workload and work successfully under pressure. You will need strong organisational and communication skills, must possess excellent leadership qualities and be a strong team player. 

Duties Include:

To work as part of the Senior Leadership Team providing strategic support to the Head teacher and Senior Team and Governing Body to ensure the school meets its educational aims and objectives

To take a lead role in procurement and securing sponsorship/funding and to manage service contracts, school licences and insurance policies 

To have financial planning and monitoring experience and be able to support the Head teacher and wider trust to manage the finances of the school including government funding, the school’s staffing, premises and resources budget and payroll

To take responsibility for the overall management of the school site and associated health and safety aspects

To advise the head teacher, senior team and all other staff on all human resources matters within the school and to lead on all aspects of the employee life cycle from recruitment to retirement

To provide professional leadership and management of the premises and administrative teams

To produce detailed and effective data and evaluation reports when required to assist with school development and improvement

To comply with and assist in the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection 

To undertake other duties, appropriate to the grade, as may reasonably be required by the head teacher

Our School

Welcome to Edith Moorhouse Primary School

We are a popular primary school in the Oxfordshire town of Carterton. We currently have just about 300 pupils, with about one third of those pupils coming from Service Families with one or more parent serving at RAF Brize Norton.

In April 2017 we converted to academy status as part of the River Learning Trust.

We are proud of our caring and nurturing approach to education and our school ethos is based on our Core Values. Visitors to our school comment that there is a calm and industrious atmosphere and that the children are polite and respectful. All pupils, staff, parents, governors and members of our local community feel listened to and contribute to our strong school community.
