St. Peter's Academy is at the heart of the community and it is the positive, caring attitude of all members of our school community that creates it's unique and inclusive nature. We are a school with high expectations and aspirations for all students.

As School Business Manager you will be highly competent, professional, organised and hardworking, representing the Head teacher in all aspects of your work. As an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play an important role in supporting the Head teacher to lead the school with maximum effectiveness regarding all aspects of the financial functions of the Academy.

As well as reporting to the Head teacher, you will also be required to report to the Local Management Board, Directors, Auditors and Companies House. You will develop policies, systems and procedures to ensure that St Peter's provides best value.

Whilst prior experience of working in a school setting is desirable, it is not essential. Familiarity with SAGE financial system would also be advantageous.

The school roll is currently 511.

The post offers 37 hours per week, at a Grade H+ £35,662 to £37,483. We are keen to appoint the most appropriate person for this post. As such, for a suitably experienced candidate, Directors are prepared to negotiate terms and conditions of employment including salary and work pattern.

St Peter's is part of the St Oswald's Multi Academy Trust (MAT) which is undergoing a diocesan review in the coming academic year that may affect a re-evaluation of this post. Applications are invited from candidates who would be interested in the position on a permanent or a temporary fixed term contract. Further details will be discussed with candidates at interview.

Please see the job description for a more detailed account of roles and responsibilities.

St Peter's is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an enhanced DBS certificate will be sought along with other relevant employment checks.

Vision

Our vision for St Peter’s Catholic College is of a happy and vibrant learning community where excellence, high aspirations and continued personal improvement are the norm for every student and adult alike.

Outstanding academic performance will be the outcome of an enriched learning journey in which students are exposed to teaching that develops, stretches and challenges their views and understanding of the world around them. Every member of the school community will find an environment in which they can flourish as a whole and complete person.

A successful and engaging extended academy programme will contribute to the character development of every student. The development of the house system will encourage healthy competition and unify students, celebrating their contributions to the curricular and extra-curricular life of the academy. Involvement in sport, music, the arts and community work will be valued in parallel with academic achievements.

Outstanding literacy provision will underpin all planning, allowing students to develop the strongest command of the English Language. For their opinions to be valued in the wider world, students must be strong and effective communicators, capable of expressing themselves eloquently both in writing and orally.
