In return, we can offer:

  • A welcoming school

About Stoneydown Park Primary School

Stoneydown Park Primary School is a friendly, multicultural community school in Walthamstow, East London. The school adjoins an attractive park and is two minutes’ walk from bus routes and Blackhorse Road station. Walthamstow High Street and market is five minutes’ walk away.

The juniors learn in a light, spacious 1960s building with a separate Nursery. Across the other side of Pretoria Avenue, Reception and KS1 earn and play.

In June 2017 we had a very positive Ofsted inspection with the school being judged as ‘good’. We have continued to develop the school including building new bespoke art and Music classrooms for use throughout the school.

Our school has been expanding. From September 2020, Stoneydown will be fully three form entry from Reception to Year 6.

Most classes have 30 pupils. The Nursery has 14 part time and 12 full time pupils. The vast majority of children are motivated and behave well. They represent a range of backgrounds, cultures and languages.

Class teachers are supported by Teaching Assistants, Phase Leaders, SENDCo Learning Mentor, Special Needs Assistants and specialist music, art, drama and sports teachers. There is a varied programme of staff professional development throughout the year. The school is very well resourced for our creative curriculum, which enables KS1 and 2 classes to gain rich cultural capital within a well-established Arts ethos.

More informally, all staff are more than willing to help each other, share good practice, be on hand for advice and generally work together as part of a team to make Stoneydown a positive school to work in for staff, children and visitors. The leadership Team care greatly about the workload of all and staff benefit from a two-week half term holiday in October.
