Job overview

We are looking to recruit trainee teachers on our highly successful School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme in the following subject areas:

Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Geography & Maths

You will be motivated and enthusiastic and interested in teaching 11-16 year old students.

You should have a minimum 2:2 degree in the relevant subject area, or a related subject, and be able to take up a full time post from September 2022 with an initial one day induction at the end of August.

Thomas Bennett Community College will fund your QTS  teaching qualification (If you would like to opt for the PGCE, this will need to be funded by the trainee at a cost of £2,000) TKAT SCITT will provide a high level of support and you will have assigned mentors.

The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) SCITT is an accredited ITT Provider offering secondary (11-16) and primary (5-11) school-based initial teacher training awarding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option to study for a Distance Learning Postgraduate Certificate in Education (DLPGCE) with Masters' credits. Our HEI Provider responsible for the PGCE is Leeds Beckett University.

TKAT SCITT provides primary and secondary teacher training for over 40 schools in our ITT partnership. 

We  offer a bespoke training programme: every training session is delivered by a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic practitioner.  Our training is relevant and responsive to current developments in education and provides a hands-­on approach to classroom practice. We believe the best teachers are trained by outstanding practitioners.

We pride ourselves on the communication and support provided to trainees to enable them to successfully complete their training year.

We also support trainees in finding a suitable Early Career Teacher (ECT) post.
