Full Time (32.5 hours per week Term Time plus 5 Training Days) or Part Time (Five Mornings)
This is a significant post within the life of the School, contributing to the welfare of the pupils and staff on a daily basis. The Chaplain leads the formal and informal expression of Catholic ethos & worship at the school and supports the spiritual life of the school community.
To be successful you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of working with young people, excellent organisational/administrative skills and the strength of character to make a significant impact on our school. You must be a practising and committed Catholic and be able to provide supportive references from your parish priest.
You should ideally possess a relevant qualification such as a Cert. Ed, Diploma in Education, a degree in a related subject such as Religious Studies, or a Youth Work qualification.
St. John Fisher is an 11-18 comprehensive school with a rich Catholic ethos. There are 700 students on roll including the Sixth Form. The school was rebuilt in 2009, as a result of which we have excellent facilities and well-equipped rooms. The school was judged Good by Ofsted in October 2013 and again in November 2017 and Outstanding by the Diocese in December 2013. Visits to the school are welcome.
