The Role
School Chaplain - Full time, term time only except for specific holiday projects in the summer
Notre Dame School is seeking to appoint a Chaplain with a passion for pastoral ministry, working with pupils and staff to promote and maintain the Catholic identity and spiritual values of the school according to the ethos of the Company of Mary Our Lady.
The Chaplain will take a lead in the liturgical life of the school ensuring the pastoral and wellbeing needs of the students and staff are met whilst helping to build links between the school, parish, home and other schools of the Order.
The successful candidate will be a baptised and a practicing Roman Catholic who is sympathetic to a variety of religions and other viewpoints.
Job requirements
- A degree in Theology or Religious studies or other relevant experience or qualification
- Committed to the spiritual development of young people
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with young people, staff, parents and our community
- Ability to engage effectively with staff working towards the common goal of supporting our young people
- Confident in leading large and small groups of pupils and adults
- Good administrative and organisational skills

Start date: January 2020
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by members of the SLT and have a tour of the school.
