Outwood Academy Easingwold is looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational Classroom Supervisor to join our Ofsted Outstanding Academy. Classroom Supervisors work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom including the supervision of whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising the daily cover rota for absent staff and contacting teaching supply agencies to arrange supply staff. You will cover lessons of any subject using the cover work set by the teacher, set high expectations to motivate and challenge students whilst managing behaviour effectively, and promoting a positive learning environment. In periods where cover is not required you will support in the classroom as directed or support on the student information desk on Reception. 

The post would ideally suit an individual either already experienced in cover supervision or with no experience in a school setting i.e you may be considering a teaching career, have experience of managing groups of secondary aged pupils: sports coaches, youth workers, guides and scouts etc. If you have the integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role (which has the added benefit of term time only working giving you the school holidays off) this is a fantastic opportunity for you to really make a difference to the lives of young people. Our driving ambition is ‘Students First: Raising Standards and Transforming Lives’ and you will be joining a strong team of professionals working to this sole aim. The post is part time permanent working term time only plus an additional 5 days (which equates to 39 weeks per year) within the OGAT pay ranges of Grade 5 SCP 9-11. This position is for 35 hours per week term time only, starting at 7.30 am and finishing at 3 pm.

Playing an active role in our local community is important to us and we regularly work with community members of a range of projects. Our sports hall and 3G sports pitch is also available for hire, giving the local community access to state of the art sporting facilities.

We have won numerous awards as a school and we have been accredited with the prestigious IQM Award, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Silver Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

Our success led to us appearing in the Sunday Times School Guide 2020, where we ranked as the 14th best school in the North and the 235th best school overall in the country.
