The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools, with 250 faculty and staff providing dual language education to a multinational student body of circa 1,300 students. We are inviting applications from experienced and qualified candidates for the following position commencing in August 2019.
SCHOOL COUNSELLOR- KINDERGARTEN AND PRIMARY
The school counsellor’s task entails supporting the students, parents, and staff of the GSIS Primary school and kindergarten. This will be achieved through individual and small group counselling as well as preventive classroom teaching. The school counsellor will work with the school counsellor team to achieve a comprehensive school counselling program that addresses the personal and social development of all students. Parents, students and teachers may approach the counsellor for advice and help regarding any social emotional issues.
The Counsellor will report directly to the Head of English and German Primary and both Kindergartens.
REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant Degree in Counselling or Social work required
• Teaching Qualification and school experience preferred
• Dual Language ability (English and German) desirable; English fluency essential.
• Strong advisory skills and experience in the conception and implementation of projects
• Work on own initiative and independently
• Work experience in school social work desirable
