St Joseph’s Laurieton is a single stream school with modern facilities and services and is set within beautiful natural bushland surrounds. We are looking for suitably qualified people for the following position:

School Counsellor


This position will be part time, temporary 2 days a week on a 3 year contract.

St Joseph’s operates around strong partnerships that are valued between parish, parents, staff and students. It is these strong ties that help each child feel safe and special within our school community.

The role of the School Counsellor is to support and assist school teams to better understand and manage student mental health issues with a view to improving student outcomes. As a School Counsellor, you will be an integral part of a school’s pastoral care support and will work with students, families, school staff and external agencies to maximise educational and wellbeing outcomes for students.


Criteria:

 A knowledge and respect of the Catholic ethos and mission of the school.

 A qualified clinical practitioner.

 Actively promote proactive and preventative practices and initiatives.

 Facilitate a coordinated approach to support students.

 Demonstrate professional and ethical practices.
