Term time only (38 weeks per annum)
The Henry Box School is seeking to appoint an experienced School Counsellor to work within the Inclusion Team and in support of the Learner Engagement Team to develop a modern and whole school approach to student support and wellbeing development. The postholder will offer confidential counselling service and therapeutic work for students who are referred, individually or in groups. The successful candidate will liaise with DSLs, parents, staff and outside agencies to ensure the welfare of the student.
You will be an experienced practitioner with evidence of working with young people in a counselling environment. The postholder will have a flexible approach to counselling with the ability to provide supportive listening or group work. The position is permanent and term time only. Working hours flexible to meet the demand of the job.
The Henry Box School is a large secondary school located in the historic conservation area in Witney, Oxfordshire. The Henry Box School is part of the family of schools which make up The MILL Academy Trust. The school was founded in 1660 and has been providing exceptional learning and teaching ever since. About The Henry Box School
The Henry Box School is a large secondary school with academy status located in Witney, Oxfordshire, England. The school has a catchment area of the town of Witney and many surrounding villages such as Ducklington and Aston. It has approximately 1200 students, aged 11 - 18. The Latin motto of the Henry Box School is Studio Floremus, which can be translated as 'By study we flourish'. The site was purchased in 1660 by grocer Henry Box, who established the school in his hometown after becoming a successful businessman in London. The schoolhouse, still surviving, and now a Grade II listed building.
The school has had a recent Ofsted inspection (February 2023), the school maintained its 'good school' status.
