We have a fantastic opportunity for somebody with a strong track record in delivering school improvement to help Church of England schools across the Diocese develop their distinctive Christian character. You will offer challenge and support, and be well-placed to have a positive impact on outcomes for children and young people.
You will be a qualified teacher, and have leadership experience in a school or academy context. You will bring the interpersonal skills needed to advise, influence and facilitate, backed by a sound understanding of developments in education. You will demonstrate a strong personal commitment to promoting education with a Christian purpose.

The Church of England is a worshipping Christian presence in every community in England and plays an active role in national life. Led and guided by the Archbishop of York, the Diocese of York comprises 470 parishes and 125 schools serving communities from the Humber to the Tees, and from the A1 road to the east coast of Yorkshire.
The role of our Education team is to promote education consistent with the faith and practice of the Church of England, with specific responsibilities for supporting church schools and academies. This includes providing professional advice and assistance, providing services, working in partnership with a range of bodies and agencies, and having pastoral concern for school staff, governors and pupils.
Based at our office close to York's northern ring road, the role involves frequent travel across our Diocese.
