Description The Finance Team is currently seeking Internal Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a School Financial Officer to join the team for a six month secondment. The position will be based in Newcastle West.



Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, the position is responsible for the administration of the finance functions for the Diocesan Education sector, in relation to schools. The requirement has arisen as a result of the commencement of transition of schools from SAS to TechnologyOne Finance system. The key deliverables will be to ensure historically school based activity processing continues under a more School System approach. This role joins two others and will need to commence at the beginning of Term 3, 2021.



This rollout is expected to take two years, finalising in 2022.
Essential Criteria • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work effectively in a team;

• Proven experience in the administration of accounts receivable and accounts payable at a high level;

• Sound knowledge of fee billing and credit applications and related internal controls;

• Ability to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality;

• A good understanding of accounting and GST procedures;

• High level computer literacy including experience with PCs (particularly MS Word and Excel) and computerised purchasing and financial information management systems;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, including effective telephone manner;

• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Conditions of EmploymentSalary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
