Are you a talented and dynamic sporting practitioner? Do you wish to play a key role in developing youth sport in Tower Hamlets via working in a highly successful school?

Oaklands School is pleased to offer, in conjunction with the Youth Sport Trust and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the position of School Games Organiser (SGO). This new and exciting role consists of two areas of work: the development & co-ordination of inter-school sports competitions at primary and secondary level and the development of elite sporting opportunities in Tower Hamlets.

The appointed SGO at Oaklands will work alongside the other borough SGO to develop competitive sport at primary and secondary level via borough wide tournaments. This will involve working in partnership with other schools and organisations to ensure the maximum participation levels of Tower Hamlets school children.

The development of elite sport is unique to this SGO position. The role requires the harnessing of the considerable talent of the young people of Tower Hamlets to play representative, district sport. The position entails the organisation of teams, fixtures and coaching networks for 3 key sports; alongside the development of other elite sporting pathway opportunities for talented individuals in other sports.

We are seeking an outstanding practitioner who has experience in coaching and developing talent, alongside knowledge of organising tournament based competitions and working with a variety of schools and sporting organisations. You will be based in a school with an excellent reputation for developing staff and realising opportunities for young people.

Oaklands is an inclusive school which creates many chances for its students and we expect our ethos and vision to resonate with all that we do.

Hence we are keen to hear from you if you:-

• Are able to inspire young people

• Aspire to develop further as a professional

• Are flexible and adaptable

• Are ambitious, hard-working and a team player

We can offer you the opportunity to join:

• A highly committed and dedicated staff
