The Hayesbrook School is a non-selective boys Academy (with a mixed Sixth Form) that specialises in sports and mathematics.

The wide ability school serves the communities of Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas, with all students supported and challenged to reach their own personal excellence.

School Games Organiser

The Hayesbrook School are looking for a School Games Organiser (SGO) for September 2017. The role is currently funded until 2020, with a salary of £31,000 per annum.  This post is full time, but part time will be considered (the salary will be prorata for part time)

The SGO will deliver a successful calendar of School Games competitions at intra and inter school level that feed into the Kent School Games county finals events. The post holder will ensure that competitions link to and support an established framework for competitive school sport at county, district and local level. The role will require significant partnership working with a wide range of local schools, clubs and NGBs involved in running and supporting school sport competitions and events. The role will also include delivery of the Change4Life Clubs programme in schools which aims to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce inactivity.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and hardworking, with experience of working in schools.  It is essential that the successful candidate has a background in sports development and has previously organised a wide range of competitions.

Skills and Experience required:

  • QTS or Level 2 National Governing Body Qualification
  • confident working with children aged 4-11 years
  • knowledge and experience of school sport and community sport structures
  • previous experience of organising a range of sports competitions and festivals within a school environment.
  • working knowledge of ICT, including keyboard skills and Microsoft Office
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • a valid driving licence and own transport to travel between sites.
