School Governance Coordinator
Part Time, Permanent
£25 per hour (dependent upon experience)
Market factor supplement approved by Governing Board
Location: Hayes, Middlesex
Work Pattern: Approximately 200 hours per academic year, mainly during school term time
The newly appointed Governing Board (GB) seeks to appoint a confident experienced administrator who is able to take on the increasing complexity of the role of Clerk to Governors including both administrative functions of clerking meetings and maintaining records and advising the board on constitutional and legal matters on school governance.
Applicants must be flexible in their approach to the post as there is no fixed pattern of working hours. At present the board holds monthly meetings. Most meetings are in the evening however some day time flexibility is essential.
The School Governance Coordinator (SGC) must be able to attend evening meetings, make regular visits to the school, attend training events (day time and evening) and work unsupervised from home and in school to complete administrative and research duties. There will be occasions when the SGC is required to attend a meeting, or make a school visit at very short notice. It is estimated that when procedures have been set up that the hours required will be approximately 200 per year mainly during term time but it is possible that they may exceed this.
Previous experience of working as a clerk to governors or in a similar role is desirable but training will be supported and is expected
