Job overview

School Strategy Board

We are looking for people from the local community who can share their viewpoints, experience, skills and fresh ideas to join our newly established School Strategy Boards in Redhill.

GLF Schools is a multi-academy trust (MAT) which currently comprises 27 schools, primary and secondary, across Surrey, Croydon, West Sussex, Wokingham and Oxfordshire. As a MAT our local governance structure differs to that of a maintained school with a Governing Body, however we are clear that each school has a distinct character and culture to meet the needs of its community and context. We therefore recognise the value of retaining local governance bodies for our schools but we call these School Strategy Boards, to emphasize the purpose for their being.

We have vacancies for clerks for some of our School Strategy Boards in the Crawley, Reigate and Redhill areas. The successful applicants will have a genuine interest in school governance, ensuring they keep a breast with current educational developments and legislation affecting schools. A member of a School Strategy Board must be a person of integrity with strong interpersonal skills, organisational skills and a positive attitude.

As a member of a School Strategy Board at a GLF School, you will help plan the strategic direction of the school by setting the values, aims and objectives for the school. The School Strategy Board is the school’s accountable body and is responsible for the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards.

If you would like to apply for any of our School Strategy Board Member positions, please contact the GLF Recruitment Team on 020 8716 4987 or email recruitment@glfschools.org.
