In Children’s Services, we believe that every child should have the chance to excel and succeed. That’s why we’re doing all we can to raise the standard of attainment across the region. Our goal is to make Central Bedfordshire a great place to work, live – and grow up. As Schools Improvement Adviser, you will work collaboratively across all our schools in Central Bedfordshire to ensure all our children reach their potential.

We’re pleased to say that the Council has recently been awarded a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating for its Children’s Services. While we’re proud of this achievement, there’s still work to be done. So we’re undertaking a transformation programme across the Children’s Directorate. Your work will contribute to the programme’s success and to the learning experience for children across Central Bedfordshire.

In this key role, you’ll support the work of the School Improvement Service, focusing on Governance, Inclusive Practice or Raising Standards of Achievement. Whatever your area, you’ll work closely with schools and their leaders, implementing relevant strategies and best practice.

To join us, you’ll need a management background gained in a school or local authority. Here, you’ll have worked on school improvement, with a focus on raising standards. Your experience will be coupled with time spent as a headteacher – and a proven record of leading school improvement. You can therefore inspire others, promote continuous learning and build strong, productive relationships. Knowledge of safeguarding legislation regarding young people will also be essential.

Join us, and you’ll enjoy attractive benefits plus the chance to learn and progress. We offer training, health and welfare support, childcare vouchers and more. Even better, you’ll find your greatness as you help children to build better futures.

At Central Bedfordshire Council, we’re passionate about having a workforce that reflects our community. It’s why we’re committed to creating equal opportunities, so that we always embrace diversity.
