South Hunsley is a very large, heavily over-subscribed secondary school with over 2100 students on roll, including 430 in the sixth form. We are fortunate to work with fantastic students, an outstanding staff and supportive parents. The school was judged to be outstanding by Ofsted in 2013. In each of the last 3 years, our Progress 8 figure has been in the range of +0.49 to +0.59 and we have won the Pupil Premium Award for Yorkshire and the Humber in 2 of the last 4 years. Our sixth form goes from strength to strength and this summer we were placed in the top 10% of providers according to ALPS. We have an outstanding programme of personal development and extra-curricular activities and in 2016 we were rated as the third best state school for sport. South Hunsley is a Teaching School – the Wolds TSA – and we have also become a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training provider.
South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College is seeking to appoint a leader to commence 01 September 2018 to actively support the vision and values of The Education Alliance, the post holder will provide support to schools with the aim of raising standards of learning and achievement for all students. Responsible for developing leadership capacity in schools, the post holder will use effective analytical and problem solving skills, utilising a coaching and facilitative approach to drive improvements, thus contributing to improved outcomes for students.
