The Garzón School (TGS) is a not-for-profit ‘start up’ school, with deep roots in Uruguayan culture, a global mindset and one simple ambition: to combine world-class academic standards with the benefits of joyful learning in a natural setting. At TGS, we believe that childhood should be a period of happy exploration and a time for developing both self-knowledge and a sense of agency. We believe that nature is the best source to forge the deep sense of confidence, curiosity, and resilience that forms the foundation not only for a lifelong love of learning, but for a life well lived. And we believe in the education of the child as a whole; with the pillars of an outstanding education necessarily including but extending far beyond academic success. At TGS our role is quite simply to support children in developing what is finest in themselves - and providing that support informs everything we do. Sound of body, calm of mind, with a strong sense of ethics and a love of nature, when it’s time for our students to leave us, they do so as whole, well-rounded individuals, perfectly prepared to engage with the wider world. The Garzón School is a transformative educational institution for the country and the wider region:  our vision is based on strong ethics, a clear focus on sustainability, academic excellence, and integrity. We consider it vital to promote socio-economic diversity, an intercultural perspective, and a cutting-edge approach to pedagogy underpins our entire vision. TGS will be a genuinely diverse and inclusive school community where all learners, children, and adults, can thrive.
