Job overview

Kensington Prep School is seeking a positive and approachable Librarian to join the team at one of the UK’s most successful prep schools.

Your key responsibilities will include guiding and advising pupils in their selection of books, encouraging them to read widely, ensuring the library is an organised, welcoming and engaging learning environment and leading an extra-curricular programme that includes book clubs, events and competitions that promote a lifelong love of reading.

Kensington Prep School has transformed its library to put reading at the heart of the school. It contains over 10,000 works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and play scripts. The stock is continually being added to. From Year 2, each class has a weekly library session. Reception and Year 1 visit to browse and familiarise themselves with the layout of the library. You will work closely with the Head, Head of English and other teachers so that pupils gain maximum benefit from such a valuable resource.

If you are a passionate individual, able to establish a rapport with students, and are strongly motivated to make yourself an active part of this thriving community, we would love to hear from you.
