Sherborne Qatar is looking to appoint enthusiastic and experienced Librarians across our group of schools. We are looking for librarians to run the libraries in our Prep School, Senior School and School for Girls. This is an exciting time to join the growing family of Sherborne Qatar Schools with our world class facilities.
Applicants must have a relevant qualification in librarianship.
Our school librarians are responsible for managing the library at their respective school. The postholder will create an environment where collaboration and creative problem solving thrive. The school librarian will be an excellent communicator who encourages and promotes enthusiasm in others. The postholder will assist the Heads of Department with raising the profile of the library throughout the school and will contribute to the development and delivery of the School’s vision and values.
A great librarian will –
• Empower pupils to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skilful researchers, and ethical users of information.
• Instil a love of learning in all pupils and ensure equitable access to information.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure appropriate library resources are available to support teaching and learning.
• Provide the leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the library provision at all our schools is aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and materials are appropriate for use in the state of Qatar.
Please note, the position of School Librarian is term time only plus two weeks during the school holidays.
