The Buckingham School is looking to appoint a Minibus Driver. The role will include transporting pupils in one of our 16/17 seater buses to/from school each day and occasionally when required for educational visits, sporting fixtures and other similar activities. The daily bus route runs to and from the surrounding villages within Buckingham early in the morning (commencing 6.45am, returning at 8.30am) and at the end of the school day (commencing at 3.10pm – 5pm). You will also be required to clean and fuel the bus and an extra 50 mins per week is included in the hours . Therefore, availability at these times is essential.

You should possess a clean driving licence and be willing to undertake any necessary training, dependent on the types of vehicle your licence permits you to drive. Any training costs will be funded by the school.

In addition to providing an excellent service and maintaining our high standards, the successful candidate must be reliable, approachable and able to work on their own initiative.

Hours for this position are open to suggestions from applicants, for example would you only like to do the morning run, or maybe the afternoon? Are you looking for a full-time position and therefore would consider other duties outside the driving hours? Please detail your suggestions on the application for our consideration; we very much look forward to hearing from you.

Values and Vision

Learning and progress are vital to our values. We promote a vibrant, exciting learning environment for everyone, encompassing flexible skill development, technological capability, skilful communication, and entrepreneurship, as well as providing breadth of knowledge, creativity, and sporting opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom, for all learners.

Ofsted report

“Sixth-form learners’ achievement has improved because teaching is better in practically all subjects. Learners are very good role models for younger pupils and contribute much to school life. Pastoral care, especially in Year 7 and for those who have special educational needs or disability, is very supportive. Practically all pupils enjoy school and behave well. They all feel safe. The school prepares pupils very well for their future health and safety. Career advice is good. Pupils successfully learn about spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues blended with an understanding of citizenship and British values. In many lessons, pupils work extremely hard and are totally absorbed by high-quality and challenging teaching.”
