Royal Russell is an HMC/IAPS co-educational school with over 1000 students between the ages of 3 and 18, situated on a beautiful green campus of 110 acres in the Shirley Hills near Croydon yet is on the doorstep of London. We have over 150 boarding students in the Senior School, and are proud of our wonderful day and boarding facilities which are being developed further in our ambitious site master plan. Our students, parents and staff experience a warm and friendly environment with strong pastoral care for every student alongside a comprehensive co-curricular and enrichment programme. We aim to build on this alongside continued academic success to be the family school of choice in South London. The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has recently judged the school as ‘excellent’ in all areas.

We are seeking to appoint a full-time qualified RGN/RSCN/HCPC Paramedic to join a team of 3 motivated and enthusiastic Nurses providing 24 hour high quality primary and emergency healthcare, first aid, wellbeing support to boarding and day students and staff in our recently refurbished Medical Centre. The Centre comprises of 2 surgeries, a Counsellor consulting room, GP surgeries, in-patient facilities for boarding students and an on-call nurses flat. The staff work a 3-week shift pattern which includes 2-3 sleep in/on-call overnight duties per week, and weekend cover for 1 week in 3.

You will join a team of qualified and supportive Nurses who all play an active role in the development, provision and promotion of health and wellbeing for the School community and provide an essential and important part of the welfare and pastoral support within the School. You will work with the Deputy Head; Pastoral, boarding and day house staff, parents, students and external health care agencies in order to provide medical care and support that is second to none.

You should have excellent clinical skills and high professional standards together with a lively, friendly personality, strong empathy with young people, excellent communication skills and be happy to work independently.
