The health centre provides a high standard of health care and welfare support for our pupils. We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic registered nurses to join our team providing a holistic approach to the care of pupils, which includes health promotion, PHSE and minor injury assessment. There are 3 part-time posts available as follows:

Post 1 - 08:00am to 14:00pm Saturdays, equal to 6 hours per week

Post 2 - 18:00pm to 22:00pm Monday to Friday, equal to 20 hours per week

Post 3 – 4 hours per day for 4 days to be worked between 09:00am and 18:00pm - Monday to Friday, which is equal to 16 hours per week

All posts are term time only, usually 33 weeks per annum. All posts will be required to participate in the on-call provision operated between the hours of 22:00pm to 08;00am Monday to Friday and 14:00pm Saturday to 08:00am Monday, inclusive with each employee being rota’d on-call for 1 week of on-call hours twice termly. In practice on call is activated an average of 12 times per annum. A separate payment will be made for on-call services.

We are also interested in receiving enquiries from nurses interested in casual supply work.

Suitable applicants will be registered nurses (RN Child) either on part 8 or 15 of the NMC register with relevant post registration experience or on part 1 (RN Adult). Knowledge and experience of providing first aid and the care of children with chronic illnesses and a specialist practitioner school nurse qualification will be advantageous.

Bedales School is an independent, co-educational, selective, day and boarding school for children aged 3-18. It is situated in Petersfield in Hampshire and there are 460 pupils on its roll. There are admission fees and scholarships and bursaries are available.

Bedales is a charitable trust and was founded in 1893 by J H Badley as a humane alternative to the authoritarian regimes of the late-Victorian public schools. Its founding ethos was, and still is, “Head, Hand and Heart.”
