School Office Administrator

We are currently seeking a School Office Administrator with responsibility for admissions and attendance.

For September 2022 (or earlier)

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, hardworking and self-motivated person with excellent organisational, administration and communication skills (in person, over the phone and via email).  They should also have excellent IT Skills and a willingness to learn the schools database system (Engage). A  person who is calm under pressure, a team player to join our thriving performing arts school.

This is a position of responsibility and requires IT and data entry skills as well as the ability to draft and type correspondence, reports and other documentation with skill and accuracy.

You will be expected to liaise with parents, guardians and students as well as your professional colleagues in a positive and helpful manner.

You will be expected to manage the day-to-day running of the school office and general office duties, inputting of general data using our Engage MIS System for both staff and students, ensuring all tasks are up to date and available for the staff to access including associated HR tasks.

Hours of work: 

This post is full time and based on a 40 hour week.  

8.00-4.00

25 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays

A salary package. £26,000 + depending on experience.

About Sylvia Young Theatre School

Sylvia Young Theatre School is a mixed, non-denominational independent secondary school in Westminster, serving students from the age of 10-16. The secondary school, situated in Marble Arch has approximately 210 students on record.

Sylvia Young Theatre School was founded in 1981. In 2010, it moved to a new building in Nutford Place, with facilties including rehearsal rooms, a recording studios and courtyard gardens. Students follow an academic programme alongside their vocational training in the performing arts (drama, dance and singing). The school has it’s own agency – The Sylvia Young Agency, which represents full time students and boasts strong industry links.
