Description

St Joseph’s High School, Aberdeen is seeking a temporary part time School Officer – Clerical (32.5 hours/week) to join the school community.

St Joseph’s High School is a co-educational, year 7-12 school committed in partnership with the community to meeting the academic, social, physical and spiritual needs of its students. St Joseph’s promotes an authentic learning community with a rigorous and comprehensive academic curriculum encouraging high standards of education for every student.

Position Requirements

In this position you will support St Joseph’s High School with various administrative duties such as:

• provide a highly professional and friendly first point of contact to all stakeholders and visitors to the School

• general office administration including maintaining student records, typing and preparation of documents, ordering of school requisites and administrative support for staff

• administrative support to the School Executive Team

Essential Criteria

•Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school

•Excellent written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

•Demonstrated experience using initiative and self-motivation in the workplace.

•Demonstrated ability in accurately and proficiently performing a wide range of administration tasks.

•Intermediate experience and ability to work with various software packages, including Microsoft office programs

•Demonstrated capacity to organise, prioritise and multitask to meet various deadlines.

•An understanding and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

•Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and be responsible and accountable for own work with the capacity and willingness to work in a team environment.

•Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Teach (School Support Staff, CSO Administration Staff, CSO Professional Officers)


The applicant must provide evidence of the following:

•Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number.

•Completion of Anaphylaxis training.


Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience working in a similar role

• Knowledge and experience using COMPASS (School Management System)

• Provide First Aid Certificate


Commencement: ASAP

Finishing Date: 17/12/2021


Conditions of Employment: Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020.
