Description Permanent Part-time School Officer - Hospitality and Food Technology position at St Mary's High School Gateshead. Within a contemporary school learning environment, the role of the School Officer - Hospitality and Food Technology will assist the Hospitality Teacher in the smooth and efficient running of the Café on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8.45am or earlier, if required. The position is also responsible for: - preparing practical classes for Food Tech and Mandatory Tech - keeping Food Tech kitchens, Prep room and equipment clean and in good working order. This includes duties such as cleaning and folding laundry. - when required assist on days where there is extra catering - learn and being willing to complete food menu calculations and ordering plus undertake buying for Food Tech, Hospitality, Admin and general staff requirements - support the canteen in service and preparation as required Ideally, the successful applicant will have the capacity to work Tuesday and Thursdays from 7.30am to 3.30pm. Note: Where appropriate, the School Officer may be required by the principal to undertake other duties in the school from time to time.
Position Requirements - Applicants must have a current Working with Children Clearance and provide date of birth with application for verification purposes. -
Essential Criteria - Demonstrated experience as an assistant in hospitality services and support. - Qualifications appropriate to the position such as, Associate Diploma in Hospitality Management or similar. - Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively. - Demonstrated time management with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
