Job overview

We are seeking a suitably qualified School Officer: Learning Support. This is a full-time fixed-term role for Term 4 2020 with the possibility of extension into 2021. In this role, you will work collaboratively in a team to provide in-class and small group support to students who have special needs and/or learning difficulties, assist students to access the mainstream curriculum, and assist students with organisational and social skills.

The successful applicant requires a high level of literacy and numeracy and well developed computer skills, and have a positive attitude, patience and a good understanding of adolescent learners. Previous experience working with students with special needs in a secondary context would be an asset.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of a successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.

  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   30 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 3 - $29.05 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019
