About the role
We are seeking a School Officer to assist the Business Manager with the Health and Safety operations of the College.
Duties include:
- Maintain and develop safe operating procedures and documentation for equipment, buildings and vehicles.
- Assist with WH&S hazardous substances, environmental, water and noise regulations, and to contribute to the ongoing awareness process.
- Conduct classroom and site inspections and organise WHS compliance documentation for all contractors to the College.
- Ensure grounds risk registers are maintained.
- Assist staff with developing risk assessments for excursions and activities.
- Participate in WH&S audits as required.
- Ensure the safety of self and others and view the College with a health and safety focus.
- Participate in the College’s health and safety activities.
- Ensure all WHS Guardian compliance tasks are completed accurately by deadlines.
Ideally you will have:
- Experience or an interest in manual arts and/or workplace health and safety;
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
- A willingness to work as part of a team.
- You will also demonstrate initiative and work unsupervised when required.

- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Position tenure: Fixed Term
Weeks worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)
Tenure duration (where Fixed Term): 2023 School Year
Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 3 days/week (24 hours/week)
Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 4 - $33.52 per hour
