About the role

We are seeking a School Officer to assist the Business Manager with the Health and Safety operations of the College.

Duties include:

  • Maintain and develop safe operating procedures and documentation for equipment, buildings and vehicles.
  • Assist with WH&S hazardous substances, environmental, water and noise regulations, and to contribute to the ongoing awareness process.
  • Conduct classroom and site inspections and organise WHS compliance documentation for all contractors to the College.
  • Ensure grounds risk registers are maintained.
  • Assist staff with developing risk assessments for excursions and activities.
  • Participate in WH&S audits as required.
  • Ensure the safety of self and others and view the College with a health and safety focus.
  • Participate in the College’s health and safety activities.
  • Ensure all WHS Guardian compliance tasks are completed accurately by deadlines.


Ideally you will have:

  • Experience or an interest in manual arts and/or workplace health and safety;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A willingness to work as part of a team. 
  • You will also demonstrate initiative and work unsupervised when required.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 4 - $33.52 per hour
