Our aim is to establish a culture of excellence throughout every element of our academy and move us from Good to Outstanding.
Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to teach. We have some students who will need all your support and yet we also featured in the national Ofsted report (2016) for providing challenge to the most able. Does this enthuse you?
There are approximately 950 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff.
You will support the Heads of Learning in delivering exceptional pastoral support. Working in a busy environment, no two days will be the same and problem solving skills are essential. You will be able to understand children across the board (from those with learning difficulties to the most able) and know how to support both. This will be achieved through combinations of the following:
- Mentoring/coaching of pupils
- Management of pupil progress and assessment
- Management of pupils’ behaviour
- Management of resources
- Management of external liaison
- Co-ordination and delivery of interventions
Experience of working with secondary school age children would be an advantage.
Highcrest offers an innovative and extensive CPD package that was recognised as an excellent example of good practice in our most recent Ofsted Inspection. No matter what your experience, we will help you develop into the person you aspire to be.
“I’d definitely say our INSET and CPD programme/sessions are far better than anything I’ve seen or heard of from other schools.” ... Head of Art
We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.
“The growing house system encourages competition between not only students but also staff, which creates a real community feeling, making it an enjoyable place to work.” ... Head of Humanities
If you are passionate about education and want to really make a difference to the lives of young people then The Highcrest Academy could be the school for you; a thriving school in the heart of the community, where staff are committed to excel in the levels of support, motivation and care given to our students. In addition, we can offer you free on-site parking, staff recognition schemes and free gym to counter the “Friday Biscuits” and on-site coffee shop!
