Tes are seeking a qualified educator for a highly reputable independent school located on Sydney’s Upper North Shore. This leading independent school provides students with holistic education through a personalised approach. They pride themselves on developing the whole student academically, emotionally and socially, through a diverse curriculum and a variety of extra-curricular programs.

 

About the Role:  

  • You will work closely with the Wellbeing Team in a temporary full time capacity in 2023.
  • This position works during the term time, and is temporary for a maximum period of 12 months concluding at the end of Term 4, 2023.
  • You will work with our School Psychologists, Year Coordinators, Head of Senior School and the Deputy Principal: Wellbeing, Boarding and Development, to support our students, parents, and teachers.
  • The School Psychologists are key members of the Wellbeing Team at Ravenswood and the main function of this role is to provide counselling support to the students.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Registration as a psychologist with AHPRA
  • Experience with CBT as well as a strong interest in positive psychology and related therapies;
  • Familiarity with trauma informed interventions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical practice;
  • Experience in providing quality evidence-based services for children, adolescents, and their parents
  • Have the right to work in Australia

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience working with groups;
  • Experience in staff training;
  • Experience working with children and adolescents aged 5-18 years;
  • Experience working in schools
  • Endorsement in clinical or educational psychology is desirable;
  • Minimum 3-5 years working as a psychologist.

 

Additional Skills/Requirements:

  • Strong understanding/ experience working with young people and families of diverse cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability to work with children and adolescents with disabilities or learning needs;
  • Ability to administer and report psychometric assessment such as the WISC, WAIS and WIAT;
  • Understanding of child protection legislation and guidelines as it applies to schools;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology;
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Eligibility for registration with Australian Psychological Society (APS)
