Appleford School is a specialist day and boarding school for pupils aged 7-18 with dyslexia and associated learning difficulties, set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside in the village of Shrewton, just off the A303. Our ethos is to build children’s confidence through continuous support and celebration of success. Rated ‘Excellent’ by ISI in all categories, the school has been providing the highest quality teaching for pupils with dyslexia for over 30 years. Appleford has small classes of up to 10 pupils and an ethos based on developing confidence, celebrating success and continuous support. More importantly, we instil a belief in our children that dyslexia is no barrier to learning and we expect them to do well.
We are looking for an experienced individual to join our busy team at Appleford School. The main purpose of this role is to provide a friendly, welcoming and effective reception/secretarial service, and to provide administrative support to the school. You will need to have good typing skills and be computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of iSAMS would be an advantage, but training will be given. Good organisational and communication skills and a genuine interest in supporting young people are essential.
This position is for 39 weeks per year to include school term times. Term-time hours are 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and 8.30-4pm on Fridays. Holidays to be taken in school breaks. 36 School weeks, plus 1 week Inset, 1 week at the end of the Summer term and 1 week before the Inset week (end of the summer holidays).
