School Social Worker or 

Experienced Child and Family Support Worker -Maternity Cover. (Secondment Opportunity Welcomed).

Salary Grade:  Minimum Grade 8 to 10, depending on qualifications and experience

Salary Range: per annum £29,860 to £33,795

Contract: Event linked maternity cover post, 35 hours per week (negotiable). Required from 20 April 2020 

Castlebar is an ‘Outstanding’ Special School (June 2018) for primary aged children. The school is also the lead school for the Ealing Primary Teaching School Alliance. We are very proud of our achievements, but more than anything we are very proud of the children we are privileged to work with.  

We are committed to supporting our pupils and families and are seeking an experienced person while our social worker is on maternity leave. We will consider applications from qualified social workers but equally will consider applications from experienced family workers who wish to broaden their knowledge and experience in a special school setting.

Essential Qualities include: 

• Significant experience of working with and engaging parents/carers and children 

• The ability to develop and deliver a range of family learning opportunities to support parents/carers to engage more fully in their child’s learning and to reintegrate parents into work or study

• Drive, enthusiasm, resilience and positive attitudes

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong partnership skills, working professionally and confidently in close liaison with schools and other agencies
