Job overview

Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy have a rare opportunity to appoint a School Staff Instructor (SSI) to work with our newly formed Royal Marines contingent of the Combined Cadet Force. The contingent is one of only 21 Royal Marines contingents in the country and is central to our leadership development programme for our students.  The post suits an individual with recent military experience as a Warrant Officer, SNCO or senior rate (Regular or Reserve), or with recent or current service with the cadet forces. It is a wide and varied role and is regarded as essential in the development and embedding of the CCF and the delivery of the cadet experience.  The successful candidate would be subject to DBS and Security Clearance vetting and will report to the Contingent Commander. It would suit someone recently retired, a serving Reservist, a Cadet Forces Adult Instructor or someone looking to top up another salary. The likely start date will be May 2018 (or sooner if available).

The main duties of the SSI in the contingent are to administer and co-ordinate training for cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, with full details contained within the Job Description and Person Specification – please click here to view

The working basis of the role is one day per week contracted by the school (Thursdays in this instance) with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000.  An additional volunteer allowance is available for duties taken on outside of this scope.  For more information, please contact Jeremy Wilson (Head of Learning, Arden Post 16) on jeremy.wilson@scwa.org.uk

Diversity at our core:  As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise.

The academy is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.  Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust.
