Job overview

The role of the School Staff Instructor at Ernest Bevin College is a part-time position working 2 days per week at the college with the opportunity to claim up to 51 days of Voluntary Allowance pay (equivalent to £3500). It is a wide and varied role and is regarded as essential in the development and embedding of the CCF and the delivery of a great cadet experience. For the candidate this will provide a challenging and highly rewarding position in a dynamic and busy environment. The successful candidate would be subject to DBS and Security Clearance vetting and will report to the Contingent Commander. It would suit someone recently retired, a serving Reservist or someone looking to top up another salary with a start date of February 2019.

Ernest Bevin College is an 11-19 boys’ school with 1250 on roll. We have a mixed sixth form of 370 students based in state of the art buildings with good transport links.

We are an Elite Sports College competing at national and international level in a range of sports. We have full time coaches for volleyball, judo and table tennis and fantastic sports facilities including a swimming pool and fitness studio. These facilities are extensively used by students and staff free of charge.

We are one of only 4 schools in the country to have been awarded STEM Assured status, one of only a few schools in London to have a Combined Cadet Force (RM) on site and we have recently formed a Cricket Academy in partnership with Twenty20 Community Cricket.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and staff. The position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Visits to the college are welcome.
