Job overview
We are looking for an excellent teacher to join our highly successful Science department. You will join us at a very exciting time as we have an impressive set of 2017 examination results to build on and a progress 8 score of 0.5 which puts the school in the top 12% nationally. This is a new build school with excellent facilities and a learning community that is cohesive and supportive.
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher to develop their skills across all key stages and abilities up to KS5 in a stimulating and supportive environment. We invite both NQTs and experienced teachers to apply. We are looking for a teacher with a physics specialism.
The Science team is a highly successful department within the School. The Additional GCSE results for summer 2017 were 95% A*-C which placed us in the top 9% of Science departments nationally. We follow a three year KS3 course which students are encouraged to develop key literacy, numeracy and practical skills. At KS4 the department follows the Edexcel, combined and separate specifications. At A level students follow OCR for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The department has a commitment to enriching students experience in Science through extra-curricular activities including after school clubs, STEM trips and visits to universities.
This, combined with our proven academic success has resulted in a large number of students who study Science at GCSE opting to continue studying A-level Sciences at the school.
As a new member of the Science team we would hope that you would be keen to contribute to and share in these continuing successes.
