Facilities

The school stands on sixteen acres of bushland and uses its surroundings as much as possible; for example, some subjects involve gardening and bushwalking. The school buildings are unique, with lots of windows in classrooms to provide an atmosphere of being amidst nature. Included in the facilities are diverse learning environments that allow for collaborative learning, with computer labs and specialist classrooms for the arts and sport.

Curriculum

The school draws on Steiner educational pedagogy, which advocates a balance in students' education between academia, art, practical and humanitarian elements. The school’s curriculum reflects these principles. The younger years have a strong focus on developing creativity.

School ethos

Lorien Novalis School, in keeping with the Steiner philosophy, values the individuality of each person and aims to nurture their creative and curious minds. It believes that each child possesses unique traits, and it is the school’s responsibility to draw out and support each child to reach their full potential, in a safe and encouraging environment. The school aims to develop self-motivated, well-rounded individuals who can actively participate and contribute to communities.
