Job overview

We are looking for Science Teachers to join our outstanding school as we grow into our sixth year. The school offers exceptional opportunities for professional development and you will be joining an incredibly talented and supportive Science team. The Science department has an exemplary record of achieving outstanding outcomes through its enriching and exciting curriculum and robust assessment systems. Our Sixth Form opens in September 2018 and during this academic year the department will be collaborating on creating a dynamic and exciting KS5 curriculum; those with an interest in teaching A Level are encouraged to apply.

Students’ behaviour at the school is exemplary and there is an incredibly positive sense of community amongst students and staff, enabled by our whole school ethos and ‘Etiquette’. Our students are diligent and hardworking when it comes to prep, homework and revision, and are very mature and independent.

The new post-holder(s) will be joining us at a time of growth and the organisation therefore offers good promotion prospects for motivated and energetic teachers who support the ethos of our schools. The Twyford Trust’s fourth school – Ada Lovelace CE High School – is due to open in temporary accommodation (on the William Perkin site) in September 2018, and interested applicants are welcome to have their application put forward for Ada Lovelace school too.

We firmly believe that any teacher who visits the school will see the passion for Science shared by both students and staff alike - you are warmly invited to visit us and see for yourself what an outstanding school William Perkin is. To arrange a visit, please email the Head of Science Tim Miall at tmiall@williamperkin.org.uk

The successful candidate will have:

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact CoE MAT which comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. Over a 10 year period it launched three new schools Ealing Fields, William Perkin and Ada Lovelace all of which have achieved progress outcomes ranking them in the top 1% of schools nationally, making TCEAT the highest attaining Trust in the UK. TCEAT aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well. Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the TCEAT operates on collaborative principles with some central services to achieve consistency of provision. The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum from Yr 7 –Yr 13 which has been devised by staff within the four schools and we have a thriving 6th form co-ordinated across 3 of the school sites. The Trust is also the hub of Teach West London and prides itself on high quality, peer-led CPD within a dynamic culture of self-improvement.
