Job overview

Rhodes Wood Hospital School is looking to appoint a qualified science teacher  to join our teaching team. We are an independent school, rated Good by OFSTED, who provide education to vulnerable children and young people aged 8-18 that are being treated for an eating disorder. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their subject and determined to impart knowledge, skills and understanding to all our young people, whilst exciting and engaging them in their learning. The ability to teach science at a high standard across all key stages is essential.

The successful candidate will have the drive and motivation to continually improve the teaching of science in our school,  whilst understanding the importance of developing a positive learning culture and experience for students who have not always experienced this prior to joining us at Rhodes Wood Hospital School. The ideal candidate will share our KITE values: Kindness, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence and will have highest regard for our young people's welfare and safety at all times.

This is an extremely rewarding and versatile role, perfect for a science teacher  who is looking for different experience, in a small  school setting with well behaved students who work above national average standards for their respective key stages.  In return, we can offer high levels of support from the SLT team, freedom to deliver lessons in a creative, bespoke manner that may not be experienced in a mainstream setting and the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on vulnerable young people  at a time when they need it most.

We are looking for:

• An individual with high expectations of their students, who is committed to ensuring a good rate of progress and has innovative curriculum ideas to support all students

• Someone who is kind and compassionate, with a sense of humour and who understands the importance of contributing to a positive working culture in our organisation

• The best possible example of professional standards regarding colleagues and pupils alike

Benefits:

• Generous and flexible CPD arrangements: our leadership team are committed to allowing teachers to pursue their professional interests and development

• A wide host of benefits as an employee of Elysium Healthcare: including  private pension and free lunch each day

• A generous employee wellbeing scheme, involving treats and vouchers throughout the academic year

• The opportunity to work with high-achieving students in small groups and seeing the positive difference education makes in their lives

• The chance to work in a small and friendly team

To apply please download and complete the attached application form. Please note we do not accept CVs. We kindly ask that all completed application forms are sent to our school administrator Lynda Humphreys at: LHumphreys@elysiumeducation.co.uk

Alternatively,  you can contact the school for further details on remuneration, starting date or any additional information on: 01707 655344.

We reserve the right to appoint a suitable candidate prior to the deadline.
