We are looking for an outstanding Science Teacher to start in September 2020. The successful applicant will be capable of teaching all years in the Prep School, with humour, sensitivity and genuine enthusiasm.

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND REQUIREMENTS – SCIENCE TEACHER

Qualified Teacher Status with evidence of CPD 

Proven track record as a successful Science teacher, with involvement in the wider school activities

An active interest in changes and advances in teaching methods and practical Science

A clear understanding of the requirements and challenges of teaching children of varied abilities and levels of achievement

Confident knowledge of IT, with enthusiasm for teaching using educational IT resources

Demonstration of effective planning, evaluation and assessment, using data where beneficial

A positive, enthusiastic and cooperative approach to pupils, staff and parents alike

Commitment to the ethos of Cumnor House Sussex, and the breadth of education offered in a boarding Prep School

PRE-APPOINTMENT CHECKS

Cumnor House Sussex is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment of a successful candidate will be conditional upon:

• Verification of identity and qualifications

• A check of the Children’s Barred List

• A satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure Certificate

• Verification of professional status and induction period

• Where the successful candidate has worked or been resident overseas in the previous ten years,   such checks and confirmations as the School may require in accordance with statutory guidance

• Verification of medical fitness 

• Satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
