About Diocesan School for Girls

We are an all-girls independent Anglican school for Pre-School (age 3) to Year 13 offering both day and boarding located in Epsom, Auckland. With a rich history, founded in 1903, we are one of the leading schools in the country with an outstanding reputation for our approach to learning. We lead boldly so our students can do the same. Everything we do helps give our girls the courage and confidence to positively shape the future and be the difference in a changing world.

Curriculum

We offer a dual educational pathway giving students the choice of studying New Zealand’s National Curriculum NCEA or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In the Senior High School Years we offer the Middle Year Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate.

People and culture.

Culture is at the heart of what we do. And that starts with our people. With an eye on tradition and the other focussed on the future, we work together to create a supportive, safe space, where both students and staff can thrive. Dio is also a place where Mātaranga Māori is respected. Through curriculum programmes that focus on Te Ao Māori (Māori world view), Te Reo Māori (Māori Language), Kapa Haka (Māori performance) and Mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) we strive to teach a better understanding of our own country and the world around us.

State-of-the-art facilities.

World class facilities help our girls excel beyond the classroom. These include state of the art classrooms, library, gym, exceptional sports facilities, our chapel, the incredible performing arts centre and more – all in beautiful, landscaped surroundings.

Our excellent academic record stands for itself, but Dio stands for so much more. We believe that education is an adventure involving creativity, imagination and discovery.
