We are looking to appoint a Science Teacher to start 1 September 2022.


Bitterne Park School is a large community school with a strong tradition of academic achievement. We provide an excellent education for 11-19 year olds set within the Bitterne Park Community. We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic teacher to contribute to the growth of our Science team.  We are a flourishing and over-subscribed school, with high expectations of all our students, and a commitment to the personal and professional development of our staff.  As an established Teaching School we offer our staff access to an excellent ECT programme, a broad range of high-quality training and the opportunity to work in various capacities with colleagues from our partner schools. This role is suitable for a ECT or above and the candidate should be able to teach biology, chemistry and physics to KS3 and KS4 level.


The science department follows a research-led approach to teaching practice which aligns with the school’s focus on retrieval practice, modelling, and planning sequences of challenging lessons.

BPS is an 11-19 mixed, community school and Sixth Form and is set in 18 acres of grounds overlooking the River Itchen and Riverside Park, in the bustling city of Southampton.
